INTRODUCTION:-
The Goechala trek, a classic Himalayan trek, is undoubtedly one the most scenic and popular. It is approximately a 5- to 6-hour drive from the nearest mountain roads from either the railway station or airport. People who love adventure should visit this place once in their lifetime. This place is so close to nature. And you get to experience the never seen before views of the mountains. This is an unforgettable experience for every person who visits here atleast once in their life.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE GOECHA LA TREK? :-
The Goecha La trek is a long trek and comprises of 09 days of trekking. In this period, you will attain an altitude of about 10,000 feet. On the trek you will cross several suspension bridges, dense rhododendron forests, alpine. Grasslands and lakes and some rocky terrain eventually lead to Goechala Viewpoint 1 which is the farthest one can trek for the initial stretch. From Yuksom to Sachen and from Sachen to Tshoka, the walk is mostly through forest, so expect it to be humid.
The Path
You will cross a total of 4 river bridges before reaching Tshoka, whenever there is a bridge. So the constant descent and then climbing after each bridge makes it a tough day of trekking. The gain of height is gradual.
The Tshoka to Dzongri is a challenging hike. Because the altitude is about 1000 feet. Expect Dongri to be very cold and windy. And depending on the weather conditions you may experience snowfall.
Dzongri to Thansing
Further towards Lamune it is a comfortable walk through vast meadows. The last section from Lamune to Goecha La Pass is probably the hardest part. Because you will be trekking at an average altitude of more than 3000 meters at night. On average you will walk 7-8 hours a day. It is advisable to walk at your own pace and keep yourself hydrated at all times.
These museums provide more information on the daily lives and times of villagers throughout the ages. There are many other temples in the area, including the 400-year-old Shri Manugueshi Temple dedicated to Shiva. And the Shanta Durga Temple that combines Portuguese and Goan architectural traditions.
WHERE WILL YOU BE STAYING?
- You will be transferred to Yuksom from the Bagdogra airport.
- The best time to trek the Goechala is between March and May and September and early November.
- The Adventure Pulse team will have kitchen staff who will carry all the rations required for the duration of the trek.
- They will set up a separate kitchen tent at all campsites.
- Your morning will start with some biscuits with hot coffee or tea.
- Staying hydrated in the mountains is a must.
- And the best way to consume liquids is in the form of hot drinks.
- We serve tea/coffee during morning breakfast,lunch and evening snack.
- For breakfast,you can expect omelets,parathas,bread and jam,pancakes,poha,oats and noodles.
- We will try our best to provide a variety of food and avoid repetition.
- Lunch will be provided in the form of packaged food.
- At the start of the day,your trek leader will prepare your tiffin box with ready meals.
