The Valley of Flowers trek starts from a small spot on the Haridwar-Badrinath road from Govindghat. Trekkers and tourists can reach Govindghat after a long drive of 10 hours. The trek to the Valley of Flowers starts from Govindghat to Ghana. One can also trek to Hemkund Sahib along the Valley of Flowers. The Hemkund Sahib trek route leaves from the checkpost of the Valley of Flowers and goes straight. Hemkund Sahib Marg is a steep and arduous journey of 6 kms from Gangaria.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to trek to the Valley of Flowers is from mid-July to August. A spectacular flowering season begins every year in these high altitude alpine meadows. It is open from mid-June to September, when the snow begins to melt, making July and August the best time to see the flowers in bloom.After December the Valley of Flowers cannot be reached until the beginning of May. Different flowers bloom in this valley every month by laying a carpet of different colored flowers. It rains for a day or two, but the view of the valley takes away all the restlessness.

How to Reach

By Train:  Roshikesh is the closest railroad station to the Valley of Flowers. You can reach Rishikesh with the help of a train And after that take a taxi from Rishikesh to Govind Ghat, this taxi will take you to Govind Ghat in 11 to 12 hours.

By Road: You can reach Valley of Flowers by road, get a bus from Rishikesh to Joshimath which will take you to Joshimath in 10 to 11 hours.
